Hall and Oates Tears for Fears Tour Hits Orlando

Hall and Oates 'Tears for Fears' Tour Hits Orlando

Daryl Hall and John Oates came to the Amway Center in Orlando on Friday night! Tears for Fears came along for the ride as well as soul singer Allen Stone.  Stone opened the show with a short acoustic set with his amazing vocals.  He put his own spin on the David/Bacharach classic “I’ll Say A Little Prayer for You” and The Weeknd “Can’t Feel My Face” as well as his own composition “Love”.  Be sure to check Allen out on YouTube or Facebook if you haven’t already, a great soul voice in the new generation.

Daryl Hall and John Oates came to the Amway Center in Orlando on Friday night! Tears for Fears, the duo from Bath, England, Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith brought the MTV Big 80’s to life with the opening tune of “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”.   The audience was on their feet and singing at the top of their voices.   TFF  put on a great show with a stellar lighting and sound.  Hits like “Head Over Heels”, “Mad World” and “Sowing the Seeds of Love” were on the setlist as well as the wonderful eerie melodic cover of Radiohead’s “Creep”.  During “Secret World” they tipped their hats to their homeland predecessor Paul McCartney with a snippet of “Let Em In”.  Their set closed with “Shout”, an anthem that is as relevant today as ever!

Hall and Oates opened their set with “Family Man” followed by “Maneater”. Two songs that seems totally contradictory in their message but sound great back to back.  The Philly boys keep it to mostly hits of which there are many, but they give the diehard fans a great blast from the past! Their 70’s “War Babies” album produced by Todd Rundgren tune, “Is It A Star” lead vocal by John Oates.  A great jam and a highlight of the show! Their band is one of the best in music.  Orlando’s own Charlie DeChant on sax, Eliot Lewis on keys, Klyde Jones on bass, Porter Carroll, Jr on percussion, Shane Theriot on guitar and Brian Dunne on drums, they keep it tight.

Live Music Orlando, Florida

Hall takes to a grand piano for an emotional extravaganza of “Sara Smile” and “Wait for Me’ with Oates standing next to the piano on guitar, reminiscent of how they must have started out writing songs in the early days.  The encore was a menu of hits that had the whole arena on its feet with ‘Kiss on My List”, “You Make My Dreams” and “Rich Girl”. Both Daryl and John’s voices are in top form. A huge light show with big screen graphics completed the show.  One of the big arena tours of the summer, it is a not to miss show.  There is a reason they are inducted in the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame; Hall and Oates have earned their place in contemporary music history!
