Front and Center with the Sideline Bluegrass Band at Fogartyville

Front and Center with the Sideline Bluegrass Band at Fogartyville

What's in a name? Some might suggest that the name Sideline means “an activity done in addition to one's main job”. And while this band may be an additional activity for the musicians that make up the Sideline Bluegrass Band, when they get together, it's all front and center, main stage bluegrass. Sideline plays songs you love.

Some are bluegrass classics, some are destined to be classics, and all of them are performed in a way that makes audiences understand why these pickers and singers are A-tier bluegrass players, loved and adored by fans worldwide.  They’ll be performing at the Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center at 8:00pm on Saturday, April 22. Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door.  Advance tickets are available at www.wslr.org.

Originally formed as a side project during the winter bluegrass off-season, Sideline Bluegrass Band now has a life of its own, with three albums, a tour hitting bluegrass hotspots across the country, and a featured column in Bluegrass Today. The six band members--Steve Dilling, Jason Moore, Skip Cherryholmes, Nathan Aldridge, Brad Hudson, and Troy Boone--have a rich background in bluegrass and play multiple instruments each. The band’s most recent album, Colors and Crossroads (2016), features a “driving, traditional sound” (Bluegrass Today) that uses covers and original material to convey a wide range of talent. With soaring fiddle solos from Nathan Aldridge, award-nominated bass playing from Jason Moore, and energetic vocals from Brian Aldridge, Skip Cherryholmes, and Brad Hudson, Colors and Crossroads is not an album to miss.
