KETTLE OF FISH THROW A CD RELEASE PARTY AT ACE’S LIVE MUSIC IN BRADENTON

Kettle of Fish

Last night there was new music being premiered to the full house at Ace’s. Kettle of Fish has a new CD out called “Living On Someday”. Recorded locally at Nova Sanga Studios with one live track recorded at the “Blue Rooster”, fans were scooping it up between sets. Dana Lawrence’s vocals were in fine form. The night also served as a “Bon Voyage” party for prodigy guitarist Kevin Miller who is headed off to college in New York.

One track of the CD, “Quite Like You” is co-written by KOF founder Dana Lawrence and Sarasota musician John Prestia, now living in Nashville. Prestia was an SRQ staple on the music scene for many years. Prestia co-wrote the Allman Brothers tune “No One to Run with” with resident Dickey Betts. Tracks also written by Greg Poulos, Thorson Moore and Lawrence bring the “festiblues” sound that is known to Kettle fans.

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s Jimmie McFadden tells of his escapades playing with Kettle in the CD liner notes. This might be Dana Lawrence’s kettle, but the fish are a variety of talented musicians that have been a part of the Suncoast including Greg Poulos, Thorsen Moore, Andy Wallace, Neil Larsen, Garrett Dawson, Nick Sperry, Todd Cook, Chris Guertin, Rick Andre as well as honorary members like McFadden. That’s the great thing about Kettle of Fish, the players change but are swimmingly great and true to their sound.
